During his career, Tom has brought rapid growth and positive change to many ophthalmic device companies. As a senior executive and leader in the ophthalmic industry, he has led entrepreneurial ventures and divisions of billion-dollar global healthcare companies. He held executive positions at HOYA Surgical Optics, Centricity Vision, Allergan Medical Optics, Bausch + Lomb, Coherent Medical, Surgilase and American Hospital Supply Corporation. He has also held Board roles at a number of Ophthalmic companies.

Tom instills a unique entrepreneurial spirit in the people around him. That spirit and a deep commitment to providing eye care practitioners with innovative products and services has resulted in significant business success. During his career, he has been involved with the launch of over twenty new technologies, many of which are still leading products in the industry today.

His long-term commitment to the ophthalmic industry is exemplified through his successful lobbying efforts with the Intraocular Lens Coalition to pass New Technology Intraocular Lens (NTIOL) legislation and his service on the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgical Society Board, ASCRS Foundation Board, Asian and European Ophthalmology Futures Forum Advisory Board, and the Ocular Surgery News Industry Advisory Council.

Tom holds an MBA from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and a BA from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio.
